I start the podcast a little fatigued, but soon wake up enough to debate the husband on the merits of smooth versus ribbed . . . paperclips. Duh. What did you think I was going to say? I then pull some Joan Callamezzo-style gotcha journalism when I out the husband for the pizza (and cheese) lover that he is. Sticking with the food theme, the husband presents a snacktastic Travel Quiz, in which I rack up several bonus points. Finally, many weeks after our return, we discuss our thoughts on the Palm Springs portion of our spring break trip, comparing and contrasting the city with Vail, Colorado. Fatigue-induced forgetfulness means we go a wee bit out of order, ending with a review of the bucket list activities for the next five states (Kansas – Maine).

Palm Springs versus Vail? That’s quite a comparison. Could this become a feature on your podcast, comparing two seemingly different cities?

Probably not. It occurred by happenstance when the husband declared Palm Springs “artificial.” I took issue with that.

I like Ally Bean’s idea. New feature alert!
Smooth vs. ribbed? Gotta go with ribbed…although I can’t remember the last time I actually used one. And YES, I’m referring to paperclips!

I couldn’t do my job without gobs of paperclips. They’re lifesavers.

Always love a good food quiz! I know Morpork from the fictional city of Ankh-Morpork in the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. I called it out here to my laptop! Vail is the highest priced, elitist city in Colorado, just an hour from me. That city and some of the high end resorts just west of Vail are not indicative of the Colorado vibe.

You are so lucky to live there. Looking ahead, I don’t think we’ll get out to my favorite state this year. 😦

I was absolutely dying of laughter at your characterization of Vail in this episode!

That makes me happy! I’ve got a long and boring drive across Wisconsin in a few days. I think I’ll give that episode a listen in the car and see what’s so funny. 🙂
