There were a couple of close answers to the last ELC, and it certainly was a French mountainous location. However my passion for bicycle riding really was the key to unlocking the puzzle.
It was the mighty Col du Tourmalet
This next ELC is worlds away. It’s as far away from cycling as the wheel is from the bicycle (always a cryptic clue or two)!
Give this a listen and a think:
Go ahead and grab your atlases, have a ponder and leave your answers in the replies below, or send directly to thetravelarchitectblog@gmail.com. Good luck and thanks for playing this season of The Enigmatic Location Conundrum Mini-Pod.
I have ridden up the Tourmalet

Okay so full disclosure: I had NO idea on this one. Absolutely none. But Pat is currently reading a NatGeo issue on Egypt and King Tut so he had a guess almost right away and, after some wikipedia reading of my own, I’m fairly certain he’s correct: Luxor.

The only clue that had any bells ringing was the one about a colossus something-or-other. I’ve heard of the Colossus of Rhodes, so I’m going to guess it’s wherever that is in Greece.
