We’re back after the husband’s solo spring break travels with much to report. A random joke and national day give way to a very enjoyable Travel Quiz focusing on US national parks. I then quiz the husband on the newly determined happiest countries. The gaiety takes a nose dive when we discuss a “must see” destination in Amsterdam and a new restriction on a hiking favorite, but rebounds somewhat as the husband discusses what it’s like to bikepack in the southern Arizona wilderness.

It really is! You should TOTALLY get a rabbit friend for Sydney (Sidney?).

Ha! I don’t think Sydney would be nearly as forgiving as your menagerie.

Yeah, it really depends on the cat(s) and rabbit(s) having the right personalities.

Bikepack + Arizona + wilderness are three words that when used together make me shudder. Still I believe you when you say some people like that sort of thing. 🙄

Yeah, not my idea of the perfect spring break…

Quite a harrowing time for a while on that bike trip. Enjoyed this quiz. It’s disappointing visiting many of the larger national parks these days – parking in huge lots and take shuttles around, reservations for everything. There are still some smaller ones that afford a more intimate experience. (Recently visited Canyon de Chelly. It may take a while until my blog catches up.)

I agree with what you are saying about the parks. It sure doesn’t leave much room for spontaneity or that back-to-nature experience.

You both really have voices made for this medium. It really is a pleasant experience, listening to your podcasts. Bikepacking sounds like an interesting way to travel too. Thanks for creating this podcast!

This was a fun travel quiz! As a lifelong national park visitor, I actually knew quite a few of them (although I too bombed the California section).
I’m actually planning to enter the Angels Landing lottery for fall so I’ll let you know how that goes. I’m hoping it successfully reduces the crowds and makes it a safer and more enjoyable hike.

Oh, yeah! Do let us know how the lottery process goes. I hope you get it! I’m already looking forward to the post.
