Podcast episode 99 is available by clicking below. It is also available on iTunes, Pocket Cast, and Spotify under the travel architect.
The answer to today’s joke is a harbinger of a travel topic discussed later in the program. The national day is cold, but the Travel Quiz, like Derek Zoolander, is so hot right now. We next spew opinions on someone else’s list of most overrated landmarks in the world—one of which is the Travel Bucket List destination—and lament the state of air travel at the moment, especially considering that I have to get on a plane soon. We end with a discussion of the second half of our Colorado trip, including beautiful Breckenridge and the climbing of our 9th 14er, Quandary Peak.

As I sit here typing this, the cat is licking the bunny. Oops! Now he just tried to grab her to tussle with her, so that’s the end of that.
Anyway, a version of that photo – one with the other kitty in it, too – is going to be front and center on our Christmas card this year.

Under a sprig of mistletoe?
Perfect!

Well, at least with flying, you won’t have to worry about getting stuck in the blazing hot sun halfway across Nebraska.

Golden Lane is part of the Prague Castle complex, so you wouldn’t pay to go just there. It’s a row of shops that were the workshops of the support people working and living alongside the castle. They are interesting shops with a nod to historic crafts, and the floor above the shops has a museum-like display of old weapons, armor, and other paraphernalia of the day. Although named for goldsmiths of old, I loved the late afternoon light on the colorful buildings which made it look truly golden.

That said, I should say I haven’t been there for a decade or so, so the arrangements may have changed.

I just looked it up online and your characterization of the situation stands the test of time.

Just goes to show you have to take The Discoverer with a grain of salt sometimes. Thanks for this info – it wasn’t mentioned in their complaint paragraph.

Wow, you guys have done more 14ers than I have… I better get climbing! I’m glad you had good weather and made it up Quandary.
Also, Plymouth Rock is possibly the biggest disappointment of my travel career. It’s 100% not worth it. So I agree with that part of the list.

Good to know – I’ll skip it if ever I’m out that way.
Yep – nine 14ers if you count Cameron in DeCaLiBron, eight if you don’t. (I count it, naturally 😉 ) I even have a patches jacket to match the husband’s now. I’ll put a picture of it on the post about Quandary. ⛰️
