The Travel Architect & The Husband Team Up to Talk About Travel (Mostly)
Podcast episode 66 is available by clicking below. It is also available on iTunes, Pocket Cast, and Spotify under the travel architect.
Unwilling to overlook National Pizza Day in favor of National Periodic Table Day, I throw the husband a conciliatory bone by honoring him with a chemistry joke. I ace his Travel Quiz, by which I mean I got a solid 70%. We then discuss a patchwork of travel-related topics—from the Japanese fishing industry to Botswanan safaris to the future of petsitting in a COVID-y world—before revealing the recent step I took in our tentative spring break planning, and the explosion of travel obsession that followed.

Caught up on more of your podcasts this weekend. It’s really good road trip listening because it’s thematically relevant but also because you talk about a lot of random topics. Sometimes just listening to one audio book can make me sleepy, even if it’s really good. Your variety and banter keeps me engaged (and alert on the road!). Also, we have a lot of potential travel destinations in common. I already have a house booked in Mitchell, Oregon (near the Painted Hills) in June and I was going to go to Tahoe after that but opted for Mt Shasta area instead. Quite a few pods ago, you talked about wanting to go to Savannah, which is on my list for next fall, and I’m debating the Florida Keys as well because I haven’t been there since I was 10 years old. We’ll cross paths one of these days!

Thanks so much, Jen! We had an online funeral today, so your message really lifted our spirits.
I’m with you on road trip audio books. They’re good, but after awhile I start nodding off no matter how engaging they are.
Wow – your new lifestyle really is taking you all over. I’m behind on your blog but I aim to catch up very soon. Drive safely!

Oh, I really like Jeapordy! The format took a little getting used to and Haleigh tends to do much better than me but I’ve definitely improved a lot since I started watching it 🙂
Another fun pod episode! I feel like I did pretty well on the quiz but London caught me out too 😦

Tsukiji fish market neighborhood has tons of tiny seafood stalls you can just walk and sample… cheap and plentiful. It’s crazy to wait for hours for a sit-down restaurant. There was a cheap little restaurant on one of the backstreets I would frequent. Don’t believe all you hear!
