The Travel Architect & The Husband Team Up to Talk About Travel (Mostly)
Podcast episode 65 is available by clicking below. It is also available on iTunes, Pocket Cast, and Spotify under the travel architect.
An excellent joke fails once again to get the appreciation it deserves, but the husband is all over the national day. He used the word “quirky” several times when introducing the Travel Quiz, but you be the judge. I did horribly on it, but I did find it interesting. After discussing the idea of crossing Britain by foot, we launch into doom and gloom with updates on the Max 8 Airplane, US travel restrictions, the outlook for vaccine passports, and the unexpectedly massive size of our new single-bike bike box (photo below). The husband ends by drooling over bikepacking routes in New Mexico, a state with one of the strictest set of travel restrictions in the nation and that won’t be welcoming Minnesotans—or anyone else—anytime soon.

Of all the things I did last year that show a certain inclination toward optimism, it was to renew my passport. I got my photo taken in FedEx, then went to the USPO service to mail my application. I received my passport, but of course I have no where to go… but when the time comes, I’m doing something again.

We’ve had it some time and it’s very robust. It’s been around the globe a few times too. I find it easy to put my bike into it.

I’m going to read this word for word on the next podcast. It’ll make the husband very happy.

Another enjoyable episode! I would definitely have guessed Kansas City for the two city state, although oddly I’ve been through Texarkana on the way down to Dallas so perhaps should have got that one. I knew it was the last stop before Texas but didn’t appreciate it crossed state lines!
Also, I’ve not seen much of Tennessee by land (only Nashville) but it looks pretty flying over the state 🙂

Thank you! I briefly looked at the Tennessee mountains for spring break, but it’s just too chilly.

It’s so interesting to me how much the state-by-state response to the virus varies.
