Podcast episode 78 is available by clicking below. It is also available on iTunes, Pocket Cast, and Spotify under the travel architect.
The joke and national day are designed to pique your interest in this mystery: where are the Travel Architect and the husband going next? Don’t pay any heed to the title of this episode—it may (or may not) be a red herring. The husband must be feeling sadistic, because he inflicted a Travel Quiz on me that reveals serious gaps in my “famous explorer” knowledge base (hint: don’t answer “Ponce de Leon” to any of the questions). We look at the bucket list activities of the next five states, all starting with “M” and including the home of yours truly: Minnesota! The husband goes on a rant, random bits of travel news are discussed, and then we reveal our upcoming travel plans. If you have any suggestions for things we should see or do, please leave a comment! We’d love to hear from you.

A few of your podcasts helped get me through my latest cross-country drive – thanks! And yes, I stayed in a small town 30 minutes west of Biloxi for 5 weeks at the beginning of this year and the beaches were fantastic, as was all the seafood. Biloxi, eh, casinos and tourist traps and not much else. But Ocean Springs just outside Biloxi is super cute, and I would say a definite yes to a few days in Bay St Louis and the beaches there. An easy trip to piggy-back off a stay in New Orleans too.

Thank you – glad to help! Thanks also for the info. We could drive there in about 18 hours, so more doable than south Florida, for example.
