Thank you to Maggie and Richard from Monkey’s Tale—blog buddies I genuinely hope to meet in person one day—for nominating me for the Travel Challenge. The challenge is to post a favorite travel picture for 10 days, without explanation. Since I’ve been blogging for just over two years, but traveling much longer than that, my goal is to post photos from places I haven’t blogged about, or at the very least, photos that haven’t made it onto my blog. Taking a page out of the husband’s ELC Podcast book, I’ll reveal the location of a given photo on the next day’s Travel Challenge post.
I’m also asked to nominate another blogger to join in. Today I nominate Janis at Retirementally Challenged. Please link to me if you decide to participate. If you are not interested, no problem!
Now let’s play!

Put your guesses in the comments section. What do you get if you guess correctly? My lifelong admiration and, as I tell my students, the good feeling of knowing you were right.
Answer to Travel Challenge, Day One: Quebec City, Canada
No idea, but I’d like to go there too – maybe we can meet on the Rhine for a beer!!

As long as I can have wine instead of beer, I’m in. 😉

Is it Germany? Wine country?

It IS Germany. I don’t rightly know if it’s wine country. I was on a Viking River Cruise and we didn’t visit this city for the wine, but rather for the castle.

Okay. I do know the Rhine does go through wine country though

There are so many beautiful towns along the Rhyne, could it be Heidelberg?

So many beautiful villages along the Rhine to choose from! Thanks for the nomination, but I think I’ll pass. I’ve enjoyed seeing other people’s pictures but can’t quite motivate myself to post every day.

Ah, but it’s just off the Rhine, not along it… does that narrow down any guesses?
No problem about the challenge. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Sounds good 🙂

Hm, is this Heidelberg? I also took a Viking River Cruise in that part of Europe before, and although I’m not much of a cruise traveler, Viking really is impeccable!

I agree. It was a great choice of a vacation to do with my 80-something mother, but not something I would do on my own (or with the husband) until I’m that age myself. Impeccable it was, though, and the food was outstanding. If you’re interested, I wrote a post on it: https://thetravelarchitect.wordpress.com/2018/11/14/is-a-viking-river-cruise-right-for-you/
